Attitude...

While at Brooks, one afternoon a family arrived at the apartments I was living in to help their daughter move in and I with another classmate offered to help them unload their trailer. The father of the daughter owned a title company in Phoenix AZ and whe we were finished, he gave me a sign that his company gave to customers. The sign had a saying on it that I tried to follow from that day forward. I'll upload a photo of that sign in time but for now, I'll simply explain it here. It said, "Attitude is everything." The apartments we lived in was an unofficial dorm that the manager only rented to Brooks students. When I returned home and opened my studio, I hung that sign above the door into my studio so everytime I entered it, I saw that sign. Just the other day, in my church bulletin, they had the following story about Attitude. I know at times it is hard to follow this optimism, but if we all could take this to heart, just imagine what a wonderful person we would be to others! I wish I could remember the name of that family, and possibly some day our paths may cross again, so I can thank him for that sign which still hangs right outside my office.

There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror and noticed she had only three hairs on her head. "Well," she said, "I'll braid my hair today." So se did and had a wonderful day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two hairs on her head. "H-m-m-m," she said, "I think I'll part my hair down the middle today." So se did and had a grand day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head. "Well," she said, "Today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail." So se did and had a fun, fun day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that thee wasn't a single hair on her head.
"YEA!" she exclaimed, "I don't have to fix my hair today!"
Attitude is everything!

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Live simply,
Love generously,
Care deeply,
Speak kindly...
Trust in God for everything!
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass; it's about learning to dance in the rain!
