Some links to other web sites; some photo some not.
The photographers I link to from this page are either good friends, coleagues, or individuals whose work I really admire and carefully selected...I don't just link to this site or another.

Hope you enjoy...

What more can I say...Santa Barbara is a beautiful place not only to visit but to live while attending the BEST photo school in the country...world! I had the pleasure of returning to give the commencement speech to the Dec. 2003 graduation class. If you are considering a "formal" training in photography, film, or graphic design, you owe it to yourself to visit Brooks. I consider this slice of paradise my second home. If you have questions about the school, please drop me an e-mail.

  dean collins
We all have that one person who inspired us to do what we do. In the case of photography, Dean was that person. He is truely missed in the photo community. His videos and educational contribution goes over and above what one could ask for. I had the pleasure of interviewing him as part of a class project while at Brooks. Additionally, I was present when he shot his video/DVD at Brooks. lending a helping hand and enjoying his presentation is a memory I'll cherish for many more years to come. If you have never seen his videos, you owe it to yourself to check them out and be inspired. If you feel they are a bit technical, you'll see what it was that inspired me to photography.

I met Chad when I signed up for a photo class at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) some years ago...ironically, it was his first semester teaching. I always admired his teaching skills and his passion for teaching. As a result of having a class that I truely enjoyed and also provided its' own "group" of us with a common interest, I know it kept me in school. When I left to attend Brooks, we kept in touch and after I returned home, we picked up our friendship where we had left off...even doing some photo jobs together. Chad joined me in Yellowstone during the summer of 2005 where our friendshp grew even move.

Rudy: "The above photo is not a self portrait...honest!"
Rudy and I met through a studio where he was working and I assisted on a freelance basis prior to leaving for Brooks. Our "friendship" took root from day one and we have become almost like brothers. Like Marc, I consider Rudy one of my "count on one hand" friends we have in a lifetime. Besides photography, we share other life experiences and help keep each other in check when difficulties arrise. The kind of friend that helps you keep things in check; the kind of friend who you can say literally anything to and it will not be an issue or thrown back in your face years later. The kind of friend that can spek his mind and you know it's not personal.

Marc is another of my best friends from as far back as High School. He is the kind of guy that virtually can be in any city in the U.S. and he knows someone who lives there. As far back as I can remember, he has always told me, that even though he knows a ton of people, he could count on one hand the number of "true friends." I never really understood this until a few years back. I consider him one of those life long true friends, the "brother" I never really had! I have always admired his work and his ability to photograph under any situation, with the minimal amount of equipment and create stunning"fashion/glamour" images. I hope you can admire and appreciate his work as much as I (and many others) do; and it has little to do with his subject matter, although that does come into play. I do not shoot fashion but if I did, he is one of my role models.
